Helping Performing Artists, Creatives & Entrepreneurs Break the Cycle of Stress and Anxiety
In a city that never sleeps, anxiety and stress can feel constant, especially for performers, creatives, and entrepreneurs juggling high expectations and busy schedules.
Symptoms like trouble sleeping, tension, restlessness, or panic attacks can interfere with your work, relationships, and overall well-being. Many people start to believe this is just how life is. But it doesn't have to be.
At Cognitive Reset Counseling, we offer online anxiety therapy tailored to the needs of NYC and Brooklyn professionals. With the right support, you can break the cycle and start feeling calm, confident, and back in control of your life.
TAILORED TO YOU
A Personalized Approach to Anxiety Treatment
We know anxiety isn't one-size-fits-all, especially in high-pressure, creative careers.
Whether you're dealing with racing thoughts, burnout, or emotional overwhelm, chronic anxiety can leave you feeling drained, disconnected, and stuck in survival mode.
We help you understand what's really going on beneath the surface and build lasting strategies for change.

UNDERSTANDING ANXIETY
Anxiety Doesn't Always Look Like Anxiety
Anxiety is not always obvious. For many people, especially those in high-pressure creative and professional environments, it shows up as perfectionism, chronic overthinking, difficulty switching off, or a persistent sense that something is about to go wrong. It can look like overworking, avoiding, people-pleasing, or pushing through exhaustion because stopping feels dangerous.
It also isn't one single condition, it shows up differently depending on the person. Some of the most common forms we treat include:
-
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): persistent, hard-to-control worry that follows you across work, relationships, and daily life
-
Social Anxiety: intense fear of judgment or embarrassment in social or professional situations
-
Panic Disorder: sudden, intense episodes of fear, often with physical symptoms like a racing heart or shortness of breath
-
Performance Anxiety: the audition, the pitch, the opening night, the launch, anxiety specifically tied to being seen and evaluated
-
High-Functioning Anxiety: looking calm and capable on the outside while struggling internally, common among high achievers and entrepreneurs
For performers and creatives, anxiety often gets tangled up with the work itself. For entrepreneurs, it can show up as decision fatigue, imposter syndrome, work anxiety that follows you home, or the inability to rest even when the work is done.
If anxiety has started to shade into depression, low motivation, or a sense of numbness, that's common too, anxiety and depression often show up together or one can lead into the other. Our clinicians treat both, and we'll help you understand what's happening beneath the surface.
These are not character flaws. They are nervous system responses that made sense at some point and now need updating.
How Your Treatment Plan Comes Together
Our approach starts with understanding what is driving your anxiety, not just managing the symptoms. We use a combination of evidence-based talk therapy and brain-body-mind tools to help you regulate your nervous system, shift the thought patterns that keep anxiety running, and build a more sustainable relationship with stress. If you've ever wondered whether what you're feeling is burnout or anxiety, that's worth exploring on its own.
Your clinician will work with you to determine which combination of approaches fits your history, your goals, and how your nervous system responds to stress. There is no one-size-fits-all protocol. Treatment is built around you.
Sessions are available in person at our Greenpoint Brooklyn office and online across New York State. We work with your schedule, your goals, and your pace.
OUR APPROACH
What Happens From Your First Call to Your Treatment Plan
If we move forward, your first full session is an evaluation. Your clinician will ask about your history, your current symptoms, and your goals. From there we build a treatment plan together.
Most clients begin to notice shifts within the first few sessions. The deeper work takes longer, and that is normal. Anxiety that has been running in the background for years does not resolve in a week. What you can expect is a clear direction, practical tools from the first session, and a clinician who understands the specific pressures of creative and entrepreneurial life in New York and Brooklyn.

Who We Work With at Cognitive Reset Counseling
CRC was built for people whose lives don't fit the standard therapy mold. Our clients are performers navigating the psychological weight of audition culture, rejection, and the pressure to always be on. They are musicians, dancers, actors, and content creators who love what they do and are exhausted by what it costs them. If you've wondered when it's time to get support, we've written about that specifically for performers.
They are also entrepreneurs and founders who are building something meaningful while managing financial uncertainty, isolation, and the kind of chronic stress that doesn't clock out at the end of the day. Freelancers who carry their business on their back. Creatives who are brilliant at their work and struggling to feel okay outside of it. And they are athletes managing the pressure of performance, competition, and constant self-evaluation.
And they are adults who don't fit neatly into any of those categories but know that anxiety, burnout, or a sense of being stuck is getting in the way of the life they want to be living.
If you have ever felt like your nervous system is running the show, or like you have tried to think your way out of something that lives deeper than your thoughts, you are in the right place.
