Hiring MHC-LPs in Brooklyn and NYC

We are currently seeking a Mental Health Counselor with a Limited Permit (MHC-LP) to join our growing Brooklyn-based group practice on a remote or hybrid basis. This is a part-time position designed for clinicians who are working toward full licensure and want to build meaningful clinical hours within a structured, supportive environment.


You will carry a caseload of adults navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, complex trauma, and the unique pressures that come with creative and entrepreneurial life in NYC. You will be supervised by a licensed clinician with diagnostic privilege and supported by a team that takes both clinical excellence and your professional growth seriously.
This position is open to Mental Health Counselors only. It is not available to Social Workers or Marriage and Family Therapists.

THE ROLE

What You Will Be Doing

Day to day, you can expect to:

  • Carry a caseload of individual adult clients presenting with anxiety, stress, burnout, complex trauma, and related concerns

  • Conduct intake assessments and collaborate with your supervisor to develop individualized treatment plans

  • Provide weekly individual therapy sessions using evidence-based, brain-body-mind informed approaches

  • Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant session notes and records within our EHR system (TheraNest)

  • Participate in regular clinical supervision with a licensed clinician

  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding scheduling and care coordination

  • Maintain a minimum caseload of 20 client hours per week across morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend availability. Flexible schedule offered.

Who We Are Looking For

You are a strong fit for this role if:

 

  • You hold a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and are eligible for your MHC-LP in New York State

  • You are working toward full licensure and looking for a practice where you can build meaningful clinical hours

  • You have a working knowledge of diagnostic evaluation and DSM-informed case conceptualization

  • You are comfortable with crisis assessment and know when and how to escalate appropriately

  • You communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues

  • You are organized, self-directed, and comfortable working remotely or in a hybrid setting

  • You are genuinely curious about brain-body-mind informed approaches and open to learning

  • You are flexible and collaborative. We are a growing practice and things evolve.

Supervision here is not a checkbox. You will have direct access to Stephanie Sanz, LMHC-D. A licensed clinician with training in neuroscience, complex trauma certification, and advanced training in Brainspotting and neurofeedback. It is collaborative, clinically rich, and designed to make you a better therapist.
